Some stories begin with a place I can still picture: a river in Wisconsin, a quiet cabin in the mountains, a door that should have stayed shut. Others begin farther away, with a ship in the dark or a world I haven’t found the words to describe yet.

I write across genres because the questions follow me everywhere. What do we owe the people we love?

How much can someone lose and still be themselves? What happens when the life you expected becomes something else?

Here you’ll find science fiction, history, mystery, humor, and stories closer to home. Some are finished. Some are still finding their way. Each one began with an image or a question that wouldn’t leave me alone.

Take a look around. Open a door. See where it leads.
